MULTICULTURAL PASTORAL CARE
The Multicultural Pastoral Care of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church is one of the realities and service in our community. It is a resource to all ethnic groups residing in the city of West Valley City. Our focus is on the pastoral needs of the various communities.
We are brothers and sisters coming from different countries, nations, continents: Africa, America (South, Center, North), Asia, Europe and Oceania. In Jesus Christ, we became one Body, and one Love. We have One God and Father of all. Our cultures are one in Jesus Christ like Saint Paul (Eph 1:10) said: “Instaurare Omnia in Christo” (…to sum up all things in Christ). He continues: “For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we are all given to drink of one Spirit” (1 Cor 12:13). We are equals in dignity, but different.
We promote interaction and understanding of our diverse cultures. Our mission involves us in confronting the church and society to be true to its cultural diversity.
The three keywords of our action are: the Adoration, the Eucharistic celebrations and the sharing of our foods.

Vision
To be a multicultural parish community united in Jesus Christ, where diverse cultures, languages, and traditions are welcomed, valued, and integrated into the life of the Church, bearing witness to unity in diversity and to the universality of the People of God.
Mission
The Multicultural Ministry promotes the participation, integration, and pastoral accompaniment of the various ethnic communities present in West Valley City. Inspired by the Gospel and the example of Saint Paul, we foster communion, mutual respect, and cultural enrichment as members of one Body in Christ, called to live and proclaim the Kingdom of God.

Pastoral Objectives 2026-2027
1. Strengthening unity and communion among the diverse cultural groups present in the parish.
2. Promote ongoing opportunities for encounter, dialogue, and intercultural collaboration.
3. Increase the participation of different communities in the liturgical, sacramental, and pastoral life of the Church.
4. Foster leadership, formation, and shared responsibility among representatives of the various cultures.
5. Celebrate and share the richness of cultural traditions as a concrete expression of the Catholicity of the Church.
Action Priorities
1. Worship
- Promote moments of prayer, adoration, and intercession that reflect the cultural diversity of the parish community.
- Integrate songs, languages, and spiritual expressions from the various cultures present in the parish.
- Encourage prayer gatherings for the unity of peoples and migrant families.
2. Eucharistic Celebrations
- Encourage the active participation of different cultural communities in liturgical celebrations.
- Organize multicultural Eucharistic celebrations during major parish solemnities and feast days.
- Promote the integration of readers, ministers, choirs, and altar servers from the various communities.
3. Sharing Food
- Hold fellowship gatherings and community events that strengthen bonds of friendship and solidarity.
- Organize cultural and food festivals to share the traditions of different peoples.
- Promote outreach initiatives that respond to the needs of the most vulnerable families in the community.
Expected Outcome
By the conclusion of the 2026-2027 pastoral period, the parish will have significantly strengthened the integration of its diverse cultural communities, fostering a greater sense of belonging, active participation, and shared responsibility in the evangelizing mission, while providing a visible witness of unity in Christ amid the richness of diversity.
