The Missionary Review Duc in Altum (MRDIA)
The Missionary Review Duc in Altum (MRDIA) is a quarterly Catholic publication of the Missionary Center Saints Peter and Paul (MCSPP). It serves as a forum for reflection and dialogue on missionary life, missiology, missionary spirituality, missionary formation, and missionary pastoral ministry.
As an instrument of evangelization and missionary communication, the Review provides a space where Little Missionaries, Missionaries, parishioners, and all brothers and sisters in Christ can share their experiences, testimonies, reflections, and insights arising from their missionary journey.
Through its articles and testimonies, Duc in Altum seeks to promote a deeper understanding of the Church’s missionary vocation and to encourage all the baptized to participate actively in the mission of proclaiming the Gospel. The Review also aims to foster ongoing formation and missionary awareness within the Church and society.
Our publication responds to the call of Pope Francis for a permanent missionary conversion and embraces the invitation of the Bishops of the United States to form and accompany missionary disciples. Furthermore, through this Review, we seek to contribute to the reflection, implementation, and growth of the “Spring of the New Evangelization in Utah,” launched by Bishop Oscar Solis upon his arrival as the tenth Bishop of Utah in his first Pastoral Letter in 2017.
Inspired by the words of Christ, Duc in Altum ("Put out into the deep" - Luke 5:4), we strive to encourage believers to move beyond comfort, deepen their faith, and boldly participate in the Church’s mission to bring the Good News to all peoples.
How to Contribute to Duc in Altum
Duc in Altum welcomes contributions from missionaries, clergy, religious men and women, seminarians, pastoral agents, scholars, parishioners, and all faithful who wish to share their experience of missionary discipleship and evangelization.
We invite submissions in the following areas:
- Missionary testimonies and experiences
- Articles on missiology and missionary theology
- Reflections on missionary spirituality
- Studies on missionary formation and leadership
- Parish missionary initiatives and pastoral projects
- Evangelization experiences among youth, families, and communities
- Reviews of books, documents, and missionary resources
- Reports on missionary events, conferences, and outreach programs
Submission Guidelines
Contributions should:
- Reflect the teachings of the Catholic Church and the spirit of missionary discipleship.
- Promote evangelization, missionary awareness, and Christian witness.
- Be written in a clear, respectful, and accessible style.
- Include the author's name, affiliation, and contact information.
- Be submitted electronically by the deadlines announced for each quarterly issue.
All submissions are reviewed by the Editorial Committee, which reserves the right to edit texts for clarity, style, and length while preserving the author's message.
