Why It Is Important to Serve the Lord as an Altar Server in the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul, West Valley City, Utah

Serving the Lord as an Altar Server is a special honor and privilege. Altar Servers assist the priest and the congregation during the Holy Mass, helping the celebration be prayerful, orderly, and beautiful. Through this ministry, young people grow closer to Jesus Christ and become active participants in the life of the Church.

Being an Altar Server teaches important Christian values such as responsibility, reverence, discipline, teamwork, and service to others. By serving at the altar, young people learn more deeply about the liturgy, the sacraments, and the teachings of the Catholic faith.

At the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in West Valley City, Altar Servers follow the example of the parish patrons, Saints Peter and Paul, who dedicated their lives to serving Christ and sharing the Gospel. Their example inspires us to be faithful disciples, willing to serve God with joy, humility, and love.

The ministry of Altar Servers is also an opportunity to discover and strengthen one's vocation. Through prayer, service, and commitment, Altar Servers develop a closer relationship with God and become witnesses of Christ in their families, schools, and communities.
